On the tracker I am showing as not connectable, I had a friend try connecting and he also showed up as not connectable, so because neither of us could connect to each other we couldn't download from each other. I thought it may have been a tracker problem, so I asked another friend to test it, he was shown up as connectable, and I could connect to him and download. But I was still being displayed as not connectable.

I have tried with 2 clients BitTornado and Azureus. I am behind a router and have forwarded my ports correctly. When I started azureus it asked me what port to use as listening TCP port. I chose any port just to test and it gave me an NAT Error. When I chose one of the ports that I have forwarded it said "OK". So I think this shows that my ports are forwarded correctly.

So I don't think the error is client side, yet I also have no reason to believe the error is server side as my friend shows as connectable and I could connect to him. I don't know what the error could be or what to try. But I need to fix it because if 2 people are not connectable then there will be a catch 22 situation.

Any help is appreciated.

I am using tbdev-01-03-06
With an invite/passkey mod.

If you need to see any files just ask and I will paste them here using codebox tags.

Thank you.

My port range which I have forwarded from my router to my PC is 50200 - 50300. That is also the same range that I have put into BitTornado. I also have checked that sockets support is enabled in phpinfo()

I just used the code in this thread.

But I replaced

$_SERVER["REMOTE_ADDR"],

With my IP in quotes to make sure it tried connecting to my IP and not my ISP's transparent caching proxy. Like

"127.0.0.1"

I also replaced the port with 50200

I opened the torrent and visited the page and got this message.

connectable = no 110 Connection timed out

:(

I'm going to have to double check my port forwarding and everything but I just don't understand it.

I just tried with 65501 in my router settings and client settings and still doesn't work, I don't understand it. I checked my ISP's newsgroups and they don't throttle BitTorrent apparently. I have been connectable in the past, but I don't know when this has changed.

I tested connecting to myself with this site

---------------------------------------------
Okay from the beginning, I open the command prompt, type ipconfig, find my local IP 192.168.1.100

I open my web browser, go to 192.168.1.1 login to the control panel, go to advanced then port forwarding (It is a linksys router)

Set the beginning of the port range and end of the port range, I enable TCP and UDP, I choose my local IP to forward connections to. Then I choose to enable. And I click submit.

-----------------------------------
I open my bittorrent client, I go to preferences (BitTornado) Choose the beginning of the port range and the end of the port range. I have tried with randomize checked and unchecked. I save my settings, and reopen the client.

When I tried in Azureus, I chose my incoming TCP listening port and tested it and it worked, so it could connect to myself locally (I assume it uses loopback IP). But it seems that my router is not forwarding connections to me properly. I don't really want to install my modem again. I could reset my router and reinstall/reconfigure it. But this is time consuming and would mean the other computers on my LAN can't access the internet. I could upgrade my routers firmware but in the past when I did this it caused problems with some games like counter-strike occasionally. So I downgraded to more of a stable version.

------------------------------------------

So I am at the point where I assume it is listening on my computer correctly and accepting connections properly. I am going to assume the tracker is working properly because it showed my friend as connectable and I was able to connect to him. I don't think it is a problem with the tracker trying to connect to my ISP's transparent caching proxy, because I used that little PHP connect code and replaced the IP with my own.

I think this needs to be a router issue, but I have no idea how to solve it. Should I contact Linksys or my ISP for help? Do you guys have any information. Would you like to check my tracker files just to make sure it is not the tracker? (Wishful thinking)

I need help, I think I provided enough information.

Okay guys I am sorry for all the replies in this thread but I feel it is important to keep you updated to help diagnose the problem. I just tried another tracker downloaded a file with quite a lot of seeders/leechers after about 30 seconds my client (BitTornado) went from a yellow light to a green light. It seemed like I was fully connectable.
